“My mother is my root, my foundation. She planted the seed that I base my life on, and that is the belief that the ability to achieve starts in your mind.” – Michael Jordan
Being a mom is the toughest job in the world. No vacations, breaks or sick days. Last year I entered the force earning the honoree title of MOM! All over the world, there are millions of moms. Some, like me, turn into zombies at night. We burn the midnight oil, while everyone’s asleep. We’re up at the crack of dawn to get the kids out of bed and on their feet.

Along with the name mom, I have earned the title of nurse; counselor, cook, friend, fashion coordinator, teacher, and manage work outside the home. No wonder I’m so beat and exhausted, YIKES!
A Worthy Profession Motherhood
Fortunately, in this worthy profession of motherhood, we can enjoy the popularity status of being a mom. Some businesses have designated parking spots for mom and tots. Airlines will allow a child under (2) years of age fly free of charge, not occupying a seat, must sit on a lap of an accompanied adult. However, the most important perk of motherhood is family. Especially having my grandmother and mother, three generations sharing stories of motherhood and a helping hand. It’s funny at times, noticing the generational gap. When my sister and I start singing a rap song for Telly, mom sings along. Making up her own words, and sounding like cacophony, we all burst out laughing. In the background, my grandmother puckers her lips and shakes her head, whispering under her breath “ustedes estan Loca” translation- you’re all crazy.
Nevertheless, my mom can sing a dozen old-time nursery tunes like no other grandma in the world, and her biggest fan, Telly!
In memory of Bobby‘s (my hubby) mother Irini
I dedicate this blog to her and the many mothers, including my grandma, Lesvia with big smiles from above.
Irini was the rock of Gibraltar to her family. I never met her, but from all of her pictures, she had a beautiful, contagious smile that brightened up a room. Although she is not physically with us, she is alive in our hearts, as we are surrounded by her love and spirit from up above.
A HAPPY MOTHERS DAY TO ALL!
