Owner, Interior Designer
Inspired by her Cuban roots, Vanessa is as influential as her Art Deco styling rooted in her cultural composition. Junior Interior Designer
Ashlyn is a graduate of the New York School of Interior Design with a BA in Fine Arts Degree. Her inspiration to become an interior designer is a culmination of two elements: The influence design can have in a person’s life through a fusion of functionality and aesthetic, and being surrounded by multiple construction sites with her father from concept to completion.
As part of Ashlyn’s growth at VDA is the knowledge and understanding of the fundamental principles of design, as well as the technicality of interior architecture and business. She has taken on numerous projects from private residences to more commercial ones including office spaces, retail spaces, and restaurants. Ashlyn works closely with contractors, architects, and vendors to ensure the tasks run along smoothly.
Zorana Selakovic was born in Belgrade, Serbia and moved to U.S. to pursue her studies in Interior Design. She has an A.A. degree in Studio Art as well as a B.S. in Interior Design from Georgia Southern University. Zorana’s inspiration to become a designer comes from her parents and family that has always encouraged her to pursue her dreams. But the greatest inspiration comes from her aunt, Rada Selakovic, one of the world-renowned artists in Serbia.
As an interior designer at Vanessa DeLeon Associates, Zorana has been a part of many residential, commercial and hospitality projects from concept to completion. Zorana considers Vanessa DeLeon as one of her greatest mentors.

Come in for a Free In-Studio Consultation
We offer a free 30-minute complimentary interview at our design studio. This is a great way to meet and greet our designers to discuss the potential project. Here is where our client will get some ideas without making any commitments or feel any obligation in making the right choice.
Our design services all begin with an initial interview in our clients home. This is also a crucial step in developing the synergies between our client-designer relationship. At this stage we discuss their design goals, likes and dislikes helping our client achieve the ultimate design style of their own. Applying the tools needed, such as selecting fabrics, furniture, lighting and other complementary accessories that will help create that unique and desired space. During the interview process, we photograph and take measurements of the space to use as a reference throughout the design process. Our fee for consultation is an hourly rate; once a retainer’s is in place the research and design phase begins to unfold.
From Concept to Completion.
Design Concept – Phase One starts with a visual concept of space via a design board including all materials, renderings, furniture, fabric samples, color swatches, floor coverings, and window treatments. Including all cost aspects and retainer.
Our Design Associate manages and oversees all phases of the project from start to finish. This will include site visits, invoicing, purchasing, scheduling deliveries, installation, coordinating contractors and subcontractors. Designing your space should not be a chore, but should be enjoyable and a stress-free experience for our clients.
Do you need an update? Or do you just need to revamp the space? The redesign is a great alternative to smaller projects. Restyling of the original furniture may also be an option for you. Recreating a new feel using different fabrics, color scheme, window treatments, accessories, and some new pieces of furniture will spruce up and beautify your space.
